Includes: No.1 (Glebe Court Nos 1, 2 and 3) GROVE ROAD SOUTH Southsea. Vicarage, now 4 dwellings. 1851. By TE Owen. Red brick in Flemish bond. Welsh slated roof, brick stack to far left, left of centre and far right. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3 bays. Stone rusticated quoins. South facing façade has at centre within projecting bay a C20 2-leaf glazed door with overlight set within original splayed stone surround with flat arch, stone hoodmould with label stops. First floor has similar stone window surround with hoodmould, C20 casement. Facing gable with shaped bargeboards. To left and right of centre bay is a stone mullion and transomed canted bay, 2 lights at front and 1 on each side each with a 2-pane casement, moulded cornice and hipped metal roof. At first floor the far left bay has a 4-pane 2-leaf timber casement and far right bay a C20 casement, each set under flat stone arch, splayed stone surround. Facing gable over each window with shaped bargeboards. The west facing façade has on right a 2-storey 2-bay wide wing. At left 3 brick steps approach a C20 boarded door with 3-pane overlight, timber architrave and pediment (entrance to No.4 St Jude's Close). First floor has a 6-pane 2-light casement set under flat stone arch, splayed stone surround. Facing gable with shaped bargeboards. Left adjoining wing, probably former stable block has at far left a C20 garage door set under flat timber arch, to right is a timber transomed and mullioned casement set under flat stone arch and further right is a former stable entrance filled in with brickwork. On right return is a 3-light transom and mullioned wood casement set under flat stone arch, stone surround. Facing gable has timber post quoins with herringbone brickwork between. East façade facing Grove Road south has 3 C20 entrances (entrances to Nos 1-3 Glebe Court). INTERIOR not inspected.
