Listed Building: 1,2 and 3 ST JUDES CLOSE (1387190)

Terrace of 3 houses. c1858. By TE Owen. Red brick in stretcher bond. Welsh slated roof, brick stack with oversailing brick cap at far left, to right of No.1 and right of No.2. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, basement and attic. 7 bays (1/3/3). At left No.1 St Jude's Close has projecting wing with facing gable and rusticated stone quoins. Tripartite stone transomed and mullioned bay window with two 3-pane front casements and single 3-pane flanking casements, hipped roof. First floor has stone transomed and mullioned window with eared stone architrave, 2 lights wide, each light with 3-pane casement. Attic window set within gable with similar 1-light wide casement. On right to recessed facade is a similar 1-light wide casement (on ground and first floor). On right No.2 St Jude's Close has at centre a 2-storey porch with jettied timber frame at first floor with herringbone brick panels, facing gable with trefoil pierced bargeboards. Recessed boarded door with ornamental strap hinges set under stone shouldered arch with stone rusticated jambs. 2 flat timber lintels support projecting first floor. At first floor is a narrow 1-light wide stone transomed window with eared architrave, 3-pane casement. To left and right on ground and first floors is a similar 2-light wide stone framed window with casements. Attic dormer on left and right each with 3-pane casement set under triangular stone arch, facing gable with projecting verge and bargeboards. No.3 St Jude's Close, 3 bays wide projecting wing with facing gable and rusticated stone quoins has on left a similar boarded door but set under stone pointed arch with, to left and right and on first floor, similar 2-light wide stone framed windows with 3-pane casements, 1-light wide casement over doorway.
