Listed Building: NUMBER 49 AND KENT LODGE (1245532)

2 houses, now offices. 1843. By TE Owen. Stuccoed. Welsh slate low pitch hipped roof, 2 rendered stacks at centre of west facing entrance elevation. 3 storeys with basement, to No.49 3 bays; Kent Lodge 3 storeys. West elevation: central door of 4 flush panels with fanlight, set back behind round-arched opening with heavy elaborate console brackets to spring of arch. To left and right a 12-pane sash, each set under slightly cambered arch. First floor: three 16-pane sashes each set under slightly cambered arch with sillband. Second floor: 3 8-pane sashes with wide flanking pilasters; moulded sillband. Moulded wood eaves with paired shaped brackets. Left return, small random sashes and C20 fire escape and door. Right return has rectangular bay on left up to first floor with central tripartite sashes and pilasters dividing lights, fascia and cornice. Similar bay to right but with metal tented roof. Between bays 12-pane sashes and on second floor three 8-pane sashes. Entrance elevation to Kent Lodge off Queens Crescent similar to that of No.49, except that sashes to ground and first floor have no glazing bars.
