Description
Chest tomb. Early C19. Ashlar. Recessed pilaster at each corner with plain sloping shaft, moulded cap and base set on plinth. Lid capping with quadruple beaded edge, weathered top slab. Long side facing south has inscription "Sacred to the memory of Martha, wife of James Knight of ----- who departed this life October ---- in the ---- year of her age" and "Sacred to the memory of James Knight who departed this life ---- December in the ---- year of his age". Dates illegible. Some ivy and vegetation growth to monument.
