Listed Building: SUMMERLAND (1387261)

Villa, now nursing home. 1859. Probably by TE Owen. Stuccoed. Steep pitch Welsh slate roof, rendered stack on left and to right of centre. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attic and basement. 4 bays. Asymmetrical. Rusticated quoin strips. At centre 5 stone steps lead to 2-storey projecting porch with facing stone coped gable. 4 moulded panel 2-leaf door, pointed fanlight set in chamfered stone surround, pointed dripstone with head stops, right return to porch has half glazed French casement with pointed glazing to upper panels. On left canted mullioned stone bay with 3 lancet headed casements in front and 1 each side, mullioned carried down to basement with similar lights, tiled pent roof. First floor has pair stone mullioned 3-pane lancet headed casements with chamfered stone surround. On right similar 4-light stone mullioned casement and 2-pane casement to attic. Right return has similar lancet headed stone mullioned casements with stone chamfered surrounds. On right 2 storey canted stone mullioned bay with cusped pointed lights, 3 to front and 2 flanking quatrefoil panels to apron. Slate pent roof.
