Includes: No.50 ST EDWARD'S ROAD Southsea. Terrace of 4 houses, No.50 St Edwards Road now flats. 1847. By TE Owen. Stuccoed. Welsh slate roofs, No.50 is hipped, slate clad stack between Nos 3/4, 4/5. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and basement, No.50 has 3 storeys, 11 bays (3:3:3:2). Nos 3, 4 and 5 each has at centre a projecting open fronted 1 storey porch, cornice and flat roof, Nos 3 and 5 have round-arched timber trellis infill to front, moulded band at dado level and on left and right returns a narrow fixed casement. 3 stone steps approach porch and recessed at rear is a 6-panelled door with fanlight set under round stuccoed arch. On left and right is a 16-pane sash set under flat stuccoed arch with recessed apron. Sillband at first floor and 3 similar sashes with recessed apron. Centre 6 panes, flanking 8 panes. No.50 St Edward Road elevation facing Queen's Place has rusticated quoin strips. 2 12-pane sashes with plain band over heads, first floor moulded band broken between 2 full length 12-pane sashes, each with moulded architrave and leading to a separate small stuccoed balcony with iron guard rails. Second floor has moulded sillband and two 9-pane unequal sashes each set under flat stuccoed arch with plain architrave and keystone. Right return facing St Edwards Road is 5 bays wide with similar rusticated quoins, sillbands and sashes. At centre is a later projecting 1-storey porch with 2-leaf fully glazed C20 door set in round-arched recess, on left and right returns a narrow round-arched casement, stepped block parapet, flat roof. On right is a later 2-storey flat roofed bay window to ground and first floors, each 4-lights wide with centre transom, 8 casements to front and narrow side casements. On right is a 2-storey later extension with 8-pane sash to left and 16-pane sash to right and on first floor 12-pane sash on left and 3-light wide oriel on right. INTERIOR not inspected.
