Listed Building: THE WHITE SWAN PUBLIC HOUSE (1104327)

Public house. c1900. By AH Bone. Timber frame with plaster infill, flint and ashlar. Steep pitched plain tiled roof, brick stack to left and centre. Neo-Tudor Jacobean. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. 3 bays 2:2:2. At centre is a 2-leaf door, each leaf with 4 shaped raised panels, upper panel has leaded lights. On far left and far right is a similar single door but each with 7 shaped raised panels. Each of the 3 entrances is flanked by male and female terms, Ionic volutes over heads supporting brackets to carved pediments, segmental over centre; all of polished wood. To left and right of centre is a 3-light stone mullion and transomed casement with leaded lights. On far left is a small stone transomed casement. The wall below window sills is flint faced with ashlar bands and low stone plinth. Jettied timber-framed first floor has 6 timber mullion and transomed casements with diamond pattern leaded lights. 3 facing gabled dormers, each with ornate bargeboards and each outer dormer has a 2-light timber lattice casement with single light to centre.
