Event/Activity EPM136 - Watching Brief at North Harbour

Southern Archaeology carried out a watching brief during the construction of a new Tesco Store and access road at North Harbour, in an area where briquetage, Iron Age pottery and Roman roof tile had previously been found. No archaeological features were recorded, and the only find was a cannonball. It was concluded that any surviving archaeological sites in this area were detroyed by land reclamation associated with the construction of the M27 in 1969.
