Description
Trial pit excavated in 1995 in the former Portsmouth and Arundel canal basin on a development site at 400-402 Locksway Road, Milton. The pit was excavated by demolition contractors on the 8th November 1995, with the hope of establishing the nature of it's fill.
According to a note in the Sites and Monuments Record source file, brickwork of the west lock gate was uncovered at 400 Locksway Road - boatyard opposite the Oyster House Public House.
There are no reports relating to this investigation.
