Event/Activity EPM65 - Watching brief at the former tram museum, 48-54 Broad Street, Old Portsmouth

Watching brief carried out by Southern Archaeological Services Ltd on a development at the former tram museum 48-54 Broad Street. Observations were undertaken on a level reduction for piling, and the excavation of contaminated ground. Infill and alluvial layers from the 19th and 20th centuries, natural shingle, a stone wall from a former building (at 48-50 Broad Street), and two timber structures were recorded. Some unstratified finds of 19th century date were recovered. Accession number: 2008/95
