Event/Activity EPM78 - Archaeological watching brief at 179-183 Fratton Road, Portsmouth

Archaeological watching brief carried out on groundworks during the development of a block of flats, two houses and refuse and cycle stores at 179-183 Fratton Road. Twenty six trenches were dug by machine, exposing natural deposits,19th to 20th century contexts, and a pit datable to between AD1550-1900. Medieval Fratton was not identified. Most of the site had been disturbed by modern building work. 2006/1526
