Monument MPM1019 - Mary Rose

Summary

Wooden Carrack built in 1511 as a fighting vessel for Henry VIII's fleet. Capsized in the Solent in 1545 whilst engaging the French. The remains of the ship were raised in 1982 and are now housed in a purpose built museum.
