Full Description
Spiral twisted copper alloy torc recovered from Russell's Lake, Langstone Harbour, by a local fisherman in the 1970s. Made from a copper alloy, presumed to be bronze.The torc measures 180mm in diameter and has a circumference of 560mm. Formed from a square-sectioned rod, with plain-tapered and hooked terminals, although one terminal is missing and the torc is in two pieces.
The torc is held within the collections of Portsmouth Museum Service under accession number 1979/325.
