Full Description

Observations made during a watching brief on a site at the rear of 27 London Road in 2004. Rare post-medieval pottery sherds were observed in the underlying subsoil, and part of a possible post-medieval pit was disturbed by a borehole on the east side of the site. This was made up of a dark silty soil, extending to a depth of at least 700mm below ground level, and contained brick fragments in its upper levels.
