Monument MPM1127 - ANTI AIRCRAFT BATTERY

Site of a WWII AA Battery containing four 4.5" guns, each of which were mounted on a holdfast (a steel "box" embedded in concrete). The battery is more likely to have been set in a concrete-built, rather than an earthwork emplacement. The remains of a Command Post etc. may survive below ground. GL Mk.II Radar provided. The site was used as a Battery HQ after the Second World War.
