Find Spot MPM1178 - 19th century finds 247 Fratton Road

One fragment of burnt flint and 19th century finds recorded during a watching brief at 247 Fratton Road in 2008/9. The finds consisted of china, clay pipe, slate, glass, oyster and winkle shells and limpets.

One fragment of burnt flint and 19th century finds recorded during a watching brief at 247 Fratton Road in 2008/9. The burnt flint was recovered from a weathered natural content, and may possibly indicate prehistoric activity. The 19th century finds were recovered from the topsoil and consisted of: fragments of blue and white china; clay pipe stems; West Country slate; green glass; oyster, winkle and slipper limpets. The finds were not retained.
