Monument MPM1182 - Gully and linear feature, Former Recretation Ground, Hilsea

A gully and linear feature of unknown date revealed during an archaeological evaluation in 2011. Fragments of animal bone and a few 'crumbs' of pottery were recovered.

A trench excavated during an archaeological evaluation in 2011 revealed a gully and a linear feature of unknown date. The gully had a bowl-shaped profile and measured 0.5m wide and 0.18m deep. Its single fill contained fragments of a large animal long bone shaft and a few 'crumbs' of pottery which disintegrated. The linear feature was recorded in plan, but could not be investigated further due to ground water in the trench.
