Full Description

Medieval pottery was recovered during excavations in 1982. Several sherds of 13th-14th century coarseware pottery of local manufacture were contained within an area of grey/brown soil to the north of the site, which represented the remaining medieval stratification. Sherds belonging to jugs and cooking pots were recovered from across the remainder of the site, some of which dated to the 11th century.

The excavations took place in the rear gradens of the former 146-154 Victoria Road North, but the site is refered to as 'Fratton Bridge'.
