Full Description

The lower sections of 18th-19th century plough furrows were revealed during excavations in Northumberland Road in 1982. The furrows were represented by a series of shallow rectangular depressions on both north-south and east-west alignments. Pottery contained within the plough soil directly above the features dated to the 18th-19th century. The soil from within the features contained sherds of medieval coarseware (see MPM200) and Bronze Age flints (see MPM201).
