Building MPM1438 - Penhale Infant School and Spinnaker Centre, Penhale Road

Buildings belonging to Penhale Infant School and the Spinnaker Adult Education Centre. Two-storey and single-storey buildings fronting Penhale Road. Red brick with red tiled roof, with prominent Dutch gables and chimneys. Separate simpler two-storey building fronting Lincoln Road. Designed by A. H. Bone. [1]

The school was opened in 1887 and enlarged in 1895. It was a Board School for Boys, Girls, and Infants. The Boys moved to Woodland Green in 1949 while the Girls and Infants remained at Penhale Road. The Senior schools were later known as Kingston Secondary Modern School. In 1975 the Infant and Junior schools were renamed Penhale First and Middle. The school is now known as Penhale Infants School. [2]
