Three pieces of flint debitage (waste material) recovered from spoil to the north of the sports centre during a watching brief for flood alleviation works near Copnor Road in 2013.

Three pieces of struck flint recovered from spoil in the playing fields to the north of the sports centre during a watching brief for flood alleviation works near Copnor Road in 2013. All three pices were flint debitage (waste material), and consisted of two flakes and one chip. The flints showed strong evidence for post-depositional edge damage, and one piece was broken. They were made from dark grey to reddish brown flint. One flint appeared to have been struck using a hard hammer percussor, and may have been Neolithic or Bronze Age.
