Full Description
Two-storey, 18th century red brick cottage, with sash windows, dormer windows. Included in an Article 4 Direction.
The words 'Former Black Horse Tavern c1657' are written on the lintel above the front door. There is a Sun Fire Insurance wall mark (badge) with the policy number 425573 above the front door of the cottage. The wall mark is probably made from cast lead, and is c. 18th/early-19th century in date. The Sun Fire Insurance Company was founded in 1710.
