Monument MPM1531 - Feature, Pembroke Path

Feature revealed during a watching brief along Pembroke Path in 2010. Limestone fragments in the fill may suggest the feature was related to a phase of demolition in the area.

Feature revealed during a watching brief along Pembroke Path in 2010. The feature measured 3200mm wide and had a gravel fill which contained abundant limestone fragments. The latter may suggest the feature was associated with a phase of demolition, possibly relating to the Domus Dei in the 16th century, the Governor's House in 1826 or structures associated with King's Bastion and Long Curtain during the 20th century. A linear feature of unknown date and function was recorded 11m to the south west (MPM1530).
