Monument MPM1653 - Former Rudmore Mill/Byerley Mill

A tower windmill built in 1815 on the west coast of Portsea Island. Known as Rudmore Mill, Byerley Mill, and Kingston Mill. Run by the Byerley family throughout its existence, William from 1816 to 1822, his son John to 1849, John's son John to 1861, his wife Caroline to 1866 and her husband John to 1896. [1, page 91]. Baking ovens installed at the outset [1, p 90]. Demolished between 1898 and 1910 [2, 3].
