Full Description
Former Union windmill (tower mill) built c1773, situated at the end of Mill Lane, Mile End. [1] It is possible that an earlier mill building was replaced around 1825, as an advertisement in the Hampshire Telegraph for that year states that the mill was 'newly erected' and had three pairs of stones, and three coal ovens' [2]. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1880 [1, 3].
