Full Description

Former windmill on Portsdown Hill in the parish of Widley. Suggestion of four windmills between 1728 and 1862, all of which burnt down [1]. Drawing of post mill in 1728 at Hampshire Record Office [2 p3] [3 p9]. Tower mill demolished during construction of Fort Widley in 1860/62 [4 pp 6,22,23] [5 p7].
