Monument MPM1682 - Brick wall, possibly belonging to King's Mill House

Remains of a brick wall revealed during an archaeological evaluation at Gunwharf Quays in 1997. The wall may have formed part of the foundations to King's Mill House.

The remains of a brick wall revealed during an archaeological evaluation at Gunwharf Quays in 1997. The corner of the wall was observed in one trench, and a T-junction in another. It is possible that the wall formed part of the foundations to King's Mill House. The house was situated at the southern end of the King's Mill (see MPM1013), and may have dated to the late-18th century. It was demolished at some point after the mill was destroyed by fire in 1868.
