Full Description
Former burial ground to the Ebenezer Baptist Chapel which stood in Castle Road. The burial ground was in use between 1815 and 1854. The entire site was redeveloped as housing in 1979, and a number of bones recovered during the excavation of foundations for new residential units.
The Ebenezer Chapel opened on the 22nd January 1809, and remained in use until 1892 when the congregation moved to the Immanuel church in Victoria Road North. The chapel building was later used as a garage, and was demolished in 1979.

'Great Southsea Street Chapel' built 1815 in classical style. Roof, pews and wainscoting made from timbers that came from a French vessel captured during the Napoleonic Wars. Building sold 1890, and demolished in 1983. [2, p83]
