Monument MPM1845 - Wall, south-east of Mary Rose Museum

Part of a red brick wall was observed on the eastern side of the former Trafalgar Building (south-east of the Mary Rose Museum) during a watching brief in 2009. Probably 20th century.

Part of a red brick wall was observed on the eastern side of the now demolished Trafalgar Building (south-east of the Mary Rose Museum) during a watching brief in 2009. The wall was on an east-west alignment and was 0.23m deep where it was observed. It consisted of two courses of bricks and was two bricks wide. The bricks were frogged, well fire and well bonded, and were similar to those used in the construction of the Trafalgar Building. The wall probably dated to the 20th century.

The remains of four red brick walls, also constructed from similar bricks to those used in the construction of the Trafalgar Building, were observed nearby during a later watching brief in 2011 (see MPM1783).
