Full Description
One of two 20th century reinforced concrete foundations recorded during a watching brief at the East Side Plaza, Gunwharf, in 2005.
The structure was U-shaped and closed at its eastern end to form a trough-like shape. It measured approximately 4.5m in length by 2m wide and was 1.5m deep. It's 'walls' were approximately 0.35m thick. The structure was thought to have probably belonged to the easternmost of three 1940 air raid trenches shown on a plan of the site.
