Monument MPM1909 - Concrete Structure 2, East Side Plaza, Gunwharf
Summary

Type and Period (1)
Full Description
One of two 20th century reinforced concrete foundations recorded during a watching brief at the East Side Plaza, Gunwharf, in 2005.
The structure consisted of a substantial concrete slab located immediately below the modern ground surface. A single RSJ was located underneath the slab, and a layer of dark blue-grey bricks sandwiched between the two. The bricks had not been bonded or laid in formal courses. Several steel ties were found nearby approximately 2m below the ground surface. These had probably once been used to anchor a structure in position.
