Full Description
A wooden water pipe, constructed from elm, was recovered during excavations to expose the foundations of the Mill Pond during a watching brief at the East Side Plaza, Gunwharf, in 2005.
A bore had been used to create a 10cm diameter hole through the pipe. At one end this had been widened to 19cm to create a 'female' connector. The pipeline was probably of a late-17th century date, as it appeared to follow the alignment of the Mill Pond Wall.
