Second World War SWS (Static Water Supply) sign painted on the east wall to the yard of The Festing public house in Albert Road. The sign has been painted directly onto the brickwork. The letters of the sign are painted yellow on a black background.
SWS signs directed the Fire Service to the emergency static water tanks that were located around the city for use in fighting fires during and after bombing raids.
