Full Description
The remnants of a Second World War SWS (Static Water Supply) sign painted on the north wall of 161 Shearer Road (sign in George Street). Only the very top of the letters are visible, painted in yellow directly onto the brickwork. No background.
SWS signs directed the Fire Service to the emergency static water tanks that were located around the city for use in fighting fires during and after bombing raids.
