Full Description
Circular pit recorded in a trial trench during an archaeological evaluation in 2021. The pit had concave sides and a u-shaped base. It had a diameter of 0.67m and was 0.22m deep. The fill consisted of a firm mid-yellow brown silty chalk fill with flint inclusions. There were no finds. The feature may have been prehistoric as it did not appear to relate to post-medieval or modern field boundaries, or agricultural disturbance.
