Full Description
Two concrete slabs observed immediately below the tarmac in the promenade southwest of Southsea Castle during a watching brief for the Southsea Coastal Defence Scheme. The slabs measured 8.3m x 4.2m and were aligned northeast-southwest. They had straight edges and a flat base.
It has been suggested that the slabs may represent the remains of a Second World War Anti Aircraft observation point or Anti Aircraft gun emplacement.
