Full Description

Possible linear wall observed at the southern end of the Bandstand Field during a watching brief for the Southsea Coastal Defence Scheme. The structure consisted of a single course of limestone blocks interspersed with concrete blocks lightly mortared together, measuring 4.3m long by 0.55m wide and 0.06m high. The wall was on a north-west to south-east alignment and mirrored the modern sea defences. It was dated to the 20th century.
