Full Description
Site of the Montague Ravelin, a former outwork on the line of fortifications that protected the town of Portsmouth. The town defences were demolished during the c1860s/1870s. [1]
Stone footings thought to belong to the Montague Ravelin were found by workmen during the demolition of Victoria Barracks in 1967 (see MPM1976). [2, 3]
