Full Description
House now offices and attached railings. Mid C19. Stuccoed. Roof concealed, rendered stack at right. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and basement, 5 bays. Centre 3 bays rusticated on ground floor. Projecting end bays are flanked with pilaster strips with bold Greek key pattern to first and second floors, 4-panelled door, upper panels glazed, and with segmental fanlight on left and on right within the outer bays and each set back within porches. Each entrance flanked by panelled pilaster strips and with shaped brackets to cornice. 3 sashes between doors each 12-panes set within plain surround, panel above with wreath moulding, central patera, panel below sill. Over each head long shaped paired brackets with guilloche mouldings supporting first floor balcony which is divided into 3 bays with coupled stuccoed piers and crossed iron rails. Balconies to outer bays have iron balustrades flanked by coupled stuccoed piers with elaborate scrolled Baroque pedestal features crowned by spike ball at base, of pilaster strips. Leading off first floor balconies 5 French casements each set in plain surround with shaped carved brackets supporting cornice. Second floor: 5 sashes, each 4 panes set in plain surround and with wreath moulding to sills with paired console brackets. Block cornices. Over second floor heavy moulded projecting cornice with paired shaped brackets. Parapet over with flanking piers at corners of outer bays. INTERIOR: in corridor, Neo-Classical mythological relief plaques. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Attached heavy cast-iron railings and gates at pavement.
