Late-19th century hospital designed by George Rake c.1878. The building is constructed from red brick with stone dressings. Formerly known as the Portsmouth Borough Asylum/Milton Asylum and Portsmouth Borough/City Mental Hospital. The hospital is now known as St James' Hospital, and is administered by the NHS.
