Full Description

Chest tomb. c1790. Ashlar. Podium with cyma moulded cap and cavetto moulded base set on plinth. On long side facing south the die has 2 side by side recessed beaded frames with inscriptions which read: "Beneath this tomb are deposited the remains of Elizabeth the wife of Henry Thorp. Daughter of Willm and the above named Anne Hopkins (?) who departed this life Decm the 30th 1790 aged 37 years" and inscription on right "Beneath this tomb are deposited the remains of Will Hopkins who departed this life May the 11th 179- in the 69th year of his age".
