Building MPM701 - HMS NELSON: FORMER BARRACKS (BUILDING NUMBER 14)

Army barracks, now naval barracks. Built 1847-48, altered mid-20th century. Originally part of the army's Anglesea Barracks, incorporated into the first naval barracks HMS Victory in 1899 (now called HMS Nelson). An interesting example of a large mid-19th century barracks, and one of the few that remain from immediately before the Crimean War.
