Building MPM743 - 61 STAMSHAW ROAD

Early-19th century house, previously used as a dairy transport depot [1]. The building appears to have originally been part of a larger property recorded on the 1838 tithe apportionment as being a house and garden occupied by Samuel Leggatt (owner Samuel Twyford) [2]. The 1870 Ordnance Survey map marks the same property as 'Manor House' [3]. By 1898 the south part of the property appears to have been demolished and terraced houses built adjoining 61 Stamshaw Road [4]. Between 1932 and 1952 the section which joined the properties had been removed [5, 6].
