Building MPM853 - St. Nicholas' Church, Hilsea

Daughter Church to St Mark's, designed by A.E. Cogswell. Built 1929-30. Rendered brick exterior. Lantern with spired belfry. East window depicting Christ in Majesty, Peter and Mary Magdalen, by Spear, 1949. Lady Chapel in south-east corner with painting of 'Madonna and Child' by David O'Connell (1960). [1]

Roughcast rendered church, red tile roof, half-timbering in gables, five light lancets- nave west window & chancel east window, shingled tower with windows to side, which provides light to nave. Designed by A. E. Cogswell. Building started in 1915, completed in 1930. [2]
