Listed Building: FLINT LODGE AND ATTACHED CONSERVATORY AND WALL (1387256)

Villa. 1853. By TE Owen. Flint with stone dressings. Steep pitched Welsh slate roof. Brick stack on left, rendered stack on right rear pitch. Asymmetrical. Gothicised. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays, right bay blinded. Rusticated stone quoin strips. At centre 4 stone steps approach 1-storey projecting porch with chamfered stone surround and pointed arch, recessed boarded door with pointed fanlight in similar surround. Small 2-light casement over porch in rusticated stone surround. Facing gable with cut bargeboards. To left within projecting bay with facing gable and elaborate cut bargeboards is a tripartite timber mullion and transomed 3-light casement with chamfered stone surrounds and label dripstone. On first and second floor similar casement and surround, no dripstone to second floor. To right, blind wall has stone panel with shield surround by pointed tracery, date on shield 1851. On left small 2-storey recessed coach house with facing gable and cut bargeboards. Ground floor has double doors with casement in rusticated surround over. On right return left projecting bay and right recessed bay each have facing gables and elaborate cut barge-boards. On left tripartite canted bay with timber transom and mullioned casements with tented slate roof. On right 2-light timber transom and mullioned casements. First floor and attic to left bay have 2-light casements in rusticated chamfered stone surrounds. INTERIOR: internally ornate marble fire-places, staircase and moulded plasterwork, except for 2 ceiling roses, remain intact. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Attached conservatory to right with flint and brick base wall.
