Event/Activity EPM167 - A Watching Brief for the Instalation of a Compressed Air Pipeline in the North Eastern Corner of HMS Victory Dry Dock (Dry Dock no. 2)

A watching brief was carried out by English Heritage's Central Archaeology Service during the instalation of a compressed air pipeline between the north eastern corner of HMS Victory Dry Dock (Dry Dock No. 2) and the south western corner of Building No. 1.9H. Observations were carried out on a hand excavated service trench measuring 450mm wide by 600mm deep. The trench ran along a concrete roadway for most of it's length, to minimise disturbance to granite sets. No features of archaeological importance were observed, and no finds were recovered.
