Date
2012

Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Millward Davies during November and December 2012 on groundworks for a new link building to connect two galleries of the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The galleries are housed in two former 18th century storehouses which are designated listed buildings. An earlier watching brief had been conducted on the site in February and March 2012 during investigations into the underlying geology of the site and the location of buried services ahead of the design for the buildings groundworks being completed. A number of archaeological features were observed during the watching brief.
