Full Description
Two pits of 19th or 20th century date were observed during a watching brief at 185-187 Kingston Road in 2006. The first pit was 1.9m in length and 0.75m wide, and its fill showed some evidence of burning. It contained a 19th century brick and a Southsea mineral water bottle by Price of Bristol. The second pit (7) was 0.4m long and 0.39m deep, and contained fragments of brick. Modern building work had disturbed the site, and no medieval or post-medieval features or artefacts were recovered.
