Monument MPM1867 - Concrete feature, Long Curtain

Concrete feature revealed during excavations for Trafalgar 200 Access Improvement works at Long Curtain in April 2005. The feature was located on the top of the rampart at the western end of Long Curtain. It consisted of a circular slab of concrete 11ft in diameter. [1] The feature was probably the remains of an emplacement for a 12pdr Q.F. gun constructed in 1907-08. A total of four of these emplacements were constructed, the remains of the other three are still visible to the east of the feature. [2]
