Full Description
Finds, including fragments of gravestones/tombstones and pieces of leather (possibly from when the premises belonged to a cobbler 1849-1913), were recovered during building work in the cellar of The George Restaurant (George Hotel) in 1988. The tombstones were apparently used as cellar foundations. The largest piece was inscribed in memory of Margaret, wife of Peter Bell.
